I'm a Clinical Mental Health Counseling graduate student at Lamar University completing my clinical internship under the supervision of Stephanie Mata, LMFT, LPC.

I believe therapy should be a place where you feel genuinely seen, heard, and supported. My goal is to create a warm, welcoming environment where clients feel comfortable showing up as they are while working toward meaningful and lasting change.

My greatest passion is working with children and adolescents. I believe that early intervention can have a lifelong impact, and I love helping young people develop the emotional awareness, confidence, and coping skills they need to navigate life's challenges. Every child deserves a safe space where they can express themselves, build resilience, and discover their strengths.

I also enjoy working with young adults who are navigating life's many transitions. Whether you're adjusting to college, beginning a career, navigating relationships, becoming more independent, or figuring out who you are, therapy can provide support during seasons of uncertainty and growth.

I believe counseling is a collaborative process that honors each person's unique experiences, strengths, and goals. My hope is that every client leaves feeling empowered, understood, and equipped with practical tools they can carry into everyday life.

Hey, I’m Erica!

My Approach

My approach is warm, compassionate, and collaborative. I strive to create an environment where clients feel emotionally safe while also feeling encouraged to grow.

I tailor therapy to each client's developmental stage, personality, and individual needs. I believe that children often communicate through play, creativity, and imagination, while adolescents and young adults benefit from having a genuine, supportive relationship where they can openly explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences without judgment.

My clinical approach integrates evidence-based interventions while emphasizing strengths, resilience, emotional growth, and practical coping skills. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Person-Centered Therapy, mindfulness, and strengths-based approaches to help clients better understand themselves and navigate life's challenges with confidence.

Every child, teen, and young adult deserves a place where they feel understood, encouraged, and supported as they navigate life's challenges. Whether you're seeking counseling for your child or yourself as a young adult, Erica is here to support you with compassion, curiosity, and care.
